Top Ten Reads of 2022

I read almost 70 books this year! Looking through the titles, it was difficult to choose the top ten and even more difficult to rank them. It’s time to say goodbye to 2022 and look forward to a new year filled with newly published books, as well as, classics. Plus, there are always the ‘new-to-you books.’ Happy New Year everyone and keep reading!

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel

This book was amazing, far surpassing Station 11 in concept and setting. It pulls together the best of time travel and science fiction worlds. The multiple perspectives and different time periods were so engaging that I finished listening to the audiobook in a couple of days.

The Neapolitan Quartet by Elena Ferrante

Technically, this entry is four books, but the saga of two strong, intelligent women growing up in Naples is so engrossing that I cannot consider any one book a standalone. The two main characters, Elena and Lila, are perfectly contrasted and leave the reader wondering which one is truly the “brilliant friend.”
